Cosmetic lip enhancement consists of the enlargement and/or
reshaping of otherwise normal upper and/or lower lips to improve
their dimensional relation with the patient's nose, teeth,
and surrounding facial structures.
There are a variety of ways to enhance lips. The main three
ways lips can be enhanced are via injectable
fillers, which are temporary, V-Y plasty or implants,
both of which are permanent. There are a variety of different
implants on the market today, made of various natural and
synthetic materials. A V-Y plasty pulls out a portion of the
patient's own lip that is hidden inside, thus widening the
lip externally. This can be performed on the upper and the
lower lip. During your consultation, the doctor will review
your options with you to help you achieve the look you desire.
