Dr. Ellenbogen is also one of the first surgeons in the Western United states offering body Jet liposuction, also with very little recovery time. Body jet liposuction, also known as Water Jet Liposuction (WAL) uses a saline solution, which is injected into the tissues to reach the fatty areas. Dr. Ellenbogen uses a water-spray device that simultaneously injects water into the body while removing the fat deposits. He is able to control the amount of pressure throughout the procedure and greatly reduce post-operative swelling and discomfort.
Since the incision sites are relatively small in the liposuction procedure, patients can heal and recover easily within a few weeks and sport a bathing suit in a matter of weeks or months without worrying too much about scars. This procedure is most beneficial for individuals who are of average weight and want to get rid of unsightly, hereditary bulges rather than those seeking weight loss.
Body Jet Liposuction
Body Jet Water Liposuction is a new way to perform liposuction. The technique uses high speed streams of water to loosen the fat cells from their connective tissue. The loosened fat cells are then gently and easily removed. There is no laser, ultrasound, or excessive tissue trauma. It provides the ultimate safety, comfort, and quick recovery to patients. Patients see the results instantly. It solves some of the previous shortcomings of other liposuction machines including scars, uneven contouring, laser or ultrasonic liposuction burns, prolonged healing, and prolonged ecchymosis (bruising) and pain.
This process causes much less swelling and discomfort, and the procedure can be performed under local anesthetic. The results are significant, and few patients experience extensive bruising or discomfort immediately after the procedure.

Conventional liposuction techniques do not necessarily get rid of cellulite, and many liposuction patients pursue other treatments such as VelaSmooth or endermologie to optimize results. With the Body Jet procedure, patients can see results immediately, and may not need to wear compression garments during the healing period.
Body Jet liposuction has had significant success in Europe and was introduced in the US in late 2008. Only a handful of skilled surgeons in the U.S., such as Dr. Ellenbogen, have had experience with this technique.
